I’m not very creative when it comes to building custom designs for roller coasters. Usually when I attempt it, I go overboard and no guest will go on it because it “looks too intense for [them].” But this one…

…actually turned out pretty good and the guests will continually go on it. However, it’s not that creative or inventive. I call it “Cyclone.” It’s set on Powered Launch Mode (45 MPH launch speed). It’s made up of three small upward helixes. The design of this is pretty much a rip-off of the pre-made design “Shuttle Loop.” It’s the only custom coaster so far that I’ve actually added to the official list of Steel Roller Coaster designs.

What’s this? It’s my very first Roller Coaster Tycoon Park: “BIG ABE’S SUPER COOL FUN LAND!”

I remember that in my early parks I had several habits:
– Naming the park after someone with a short name so that it would fit in the banner scroll (i. e. Abe, Bob, Bill, Al, Don, Pat… I had one park where all the rides were named after Presidents: Thomas Jefferson’s Ferris Wheel-o-Fun, James Buchanan’s Crazy Coaster).
- Using too many adjectives in the park name: Big, Super, Cool, Fun, Awesome, Terrific, Far-Out.
- Naming all the rides with variants of the park’s name. For instance this park has a ride called, “LIL’ ABE’S FUN SLIDE.”
- Using CAPITAL LETTERS FOR EVERYTHING and too many exclamation marks!!!!!!!
- Having a sort of pit in the park. Notice where the maze is in this park. Many of my early parks have that.
I’ve come a long way.

Presenting… “The Island”:

This park changed the most from what I originally intended, which was something like this: it would be set on Pacific Pyramids (so that stayed the same). It would be made up of one large island, which I later changed to two, and then eventually eleven. The mainland and the island (later islands) would be connected by Chairlifts (which I had to change because I found out that the people didn’t want to pay a dime to travel from an island with nothing but a chairlift to an island with every possible ride).
All that explains why the park is called “The Island” instead of something like “The Islands.”
