My Animal Crossing Chronicles – 6/09

June 21st, 2009

I’ve made a couple of notable accomplishments in the past month. First of all, I completed my entire fossil collection at the museum. The last fossil to be added was the anklyosaur skull. Blathers, the owl curator of the museum, seemed very excited that the collection was completed, but he fell asleep the second I left the room…

Although the world economy is unstable, the economy in Coolton is great – at least for me. I have started to replant trees after having chopped all of them down, but I have planted very few non-fruit-giving trees and only one apple tree, which means that the majority of the trees in my town produce fruits worth five-hundred bells. Also, since I have collected all the fossils, I don’t need to donate any to the museum, which means that I can collect all the cash from all the fossils I dig up. For these reasons, I’m able to make between fifty-thousand and ninety-thousand bells on the average day.

All those bells were very helpful when I was donating money to the town fund; I have donated a million bells to the town fund. I was given the choice of having either a windmill or a lighthouse in my town. I eeny-meeny-miney-moed, and picked the lighthouse, so my town now has a lighthouse:

My Animal Crossing Chronicles – 5/09

Since I got a town fountain last month, I tried to throw an axe into it to get a gold one. The first day, I wasn’t able to do it because the mayor was standing in front of the fountain. The second day, I couldn’t get one because the magical fairy who pops out of there said she was “all out” of golden axes. The third day, she took and kept my axe because I didn’t comment that she was wearing a different outfit from the day before. The fourth day, she again took and kept my axe even though I told her that there was a “Big Change!” in her outfit from the day before. For the next few days, the excuses as to why she’d not give me a gold axe ranged from running mascara to a skin rejuvenation appointment that she couldn’t miss.

After many, many more days of her complaining about the growing bump on her head from all the axe handles hitting it, things finally looked as though I’d be getting a gold axe, but, yet again, she was all out of gold axes. She did happen to have a few silver axes in stock, so I got one of those.

In the last month, I bought a silver slingshot. Tom Nook gets them in his store very rarely. I now have the regular slingshot, the silver slingshot, and the gold slingshot. An impressive accomplishment if I do say so myself.

I had my first run-in with Wisp, the genie-ghost-thing that has a fear of ghosts. I went through all the trouble of finding him (tip: he only comes out on Monday nights), finding his lamp, and running up to my attic where he feels most comfortable. After all this, I requested that he give me some material goods. All I got was a lousy set of bowling pins. I was hoping for/expecting something much better.

My town officially has zero trees. This is part of my project to remove all the trees in Coolton, so that I can be sure I planted every tree there. Right now, I’m enjoying the freedom of a town with no trees: there’s not much left to run into, fossils are now much easier to find, nothing blocks my view of the river when I’m trying to fish.

Also, I paid off the final loan on my house, and as a gift I was given a festive green flag with the Animal Crossing Logo on it. I can’t decide what I should change it to, if anything. I was thinking that I could make a flag with my Mii’s face on it, but that would take a while in the confines of the Animal Crossing logo-designing feature.

My Animal Crossing Chronicles – 4/09

April 15th, 2009

There’s a lot going on in Coolton this month. Probably the most important thing going on right now is that I’ve decided to chop down all the trees in my town. (Note my crude self-made lumberjack outfit.)

I have decided to do this because I want my town to be as self-customized as possible; I want to know that every tree that grows in the earth in my town is planted by me and not some computerized entity. I’ve gone through four axes. But don’t worry, I’ve remembered to save one of each fruit that can normally be found in Coolton: coconut, apple, peach, cherry, and orange.

Zipper T. Bunny came to town on “Bunny Day” as expected. I think I dug up about thirty Bunny eggs, and got an entire roomful of egg-themed furniture in return. I find it odd that the egg is a symbol of Easter because it symbolizes newness and life, but all the egg furniture I got clearly features the egg’s yolk. I don’t think any life will be coming from a fried egg.

Lastly, I finally donated enough money to my town fund to have a town fountain built. I’ve read on cheat websites that you can get a golden axe by answering some questions at the fountain… Hmmmm…

Quite the eventful month… May will seem dull by comparison.
Also, I caught a zebra turkeyfish… Coolest-Looking. Fish. Ever.
