Smash Bros. Excitement Sky-Rocketing

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Man, this game is gonna be good.
I have an alteration to my Brawl Schedule, which will make for more fun and less sleep for me: I will now play as each character on each stage. That's twenty-one times on each of the twenty-nine starting stages, plus the fifteen custom stages that I am working through in my mind, plus any stages I unlock along the way. This means, that in my first day or two of Brawling, I will have Star Wolf - the so-called "hardest to earn" character. I don't care much about Wolf, but it's Sonic and R. O. B. that I must get my hands on.
Like I said, I have many ideas for custom stages in my mind, including one shaped like the Starman item from Super Mario Bros. 3 (including eyes), a very large stage that spells out "Maybe a Starbucks", and a completely empty stage with no platforms whatsoever.

Three Ways to Alter your Guitar Hero Game

Friday, February 15th, 2008

If you play Guitar Hero four hours a day the same old strumming can get a bit tiring. Here are some ways to make the game like new again.
Piano Style or Dobro Style, as I call it. Hold the Guitar flat on your lap and play it like that. It's the best of these three to start with because it's easy.
Violin Style. Hold the guitar like a violin. I like this a lot... makes me feel sophistimacated. Sometimes if I'm feeling really gutsy, I'll use the Whammy Bar as the bow. Otherwise I just hold it like a violin and play it like a guitar.
Wii-Mote Only. I don't know if you can do some variant of this with XBox or PS2/3, but you can do it with the Wii for sure. It's the most challenging if you've played with the guitar for a long time. B=Green. Right Arrow=Red. A=Yellow. 1=Blue. 2=Orange. Up Arrow=Star Power. Shaking the remote=Whammy. It can get pretty complicated. I've been too much of a chicken to try it on anything higher than Medium.

My Dirty Little Smash Bros. Secret

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I have a secret related to the Super Smash Bros. series... concerning the second game... Super Smash Bros. Melee. Here it is:
I hated that game. It was like too much mayonnaise in between my two delicious pieces of Italian Herbs and Cheese bread from Subway. I never finished unlocking all the characters. The main reason I didn't like it was because I hate the Gamecube Controller. My fingers are too long to get a good-feeling grip on that thing... and my fingers aren't even that long! I'd call the Nintendo Gamecube Controller Nintendo's biggest flop.

Thank you for visiting Maybe a Starbucks.
