Brawl Not Perfect in Every Way?

Friday, February 29th, 2008

One official reviewer has given Brawl a 9.3/10 saying that it's only real crime was repitition, but they also said that it had to br repetitive because it was perfect. Catch 22. This is Brawl's first official review that didn't give it a perfect score.

Top 10 Aspects of Brawl

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Brawl is fast approaching. I'm bored. Here's the result: a top ten list of the greatest things about Super Smash Bros. Brawl that I can't wait to try out, and then try out some more.
10. Costume Changes: Want to play as Fire Mario? A Yeti DK? Dark Link? You can. For me the best aspect of this is that you can change WarioWare Wario to classic Wario. Get rid of the modernized rugged vest and helmet and replace them with the old school purple and yellow overalls with hat.
9. Assist Trophies: Are you sad that Gray Fox wasn't in Brawl? Mr. Resetti? Waluigi? Knuckles? Well, just because you can't play as them doesn't mean they aren't there. They're all Assist Trophies!
8. Music: There's a stage that plays music you can't stand? Change the likelihood that the song will play on that stage with the "My Music" mode.
7. Controller Customization: First you've got four whole controller options, and if that's not enough you can customize them pretty much anyway you want. Plus you can input a name to go with a customization.
6. Subspace Emissary: You're really getting your money's worth with this game. It's quite literally two games in one. You've got the fighting game, and then you've got a complete side-scroller adventure.
5. Final Smashes: This is the greatest idea to hit the Smash series since... the Smash series itself. Can't wait to play as Giga Bowser, Super Sonic, and Landmaster.
4. The Graphics: Obviously, this game has been getting a lot of praise for it's amazing gameplay, but not nearly enough people are praising the graphics. Compare Melee Mario to Brawl Mario. Compare Melee Zelda to Brawl Zelda. And if you want a real shock, compare Melee Link to Brawl Link.
3. The Newcomers: Brawl definitely has the best selection of newcomers of any game in the series. (Which is impressive because the first one was technically nothing but newcomers.) Can't wait to try out Meta Knight, Snake, Pit, R. O. B., and of course Sonic.
2. Custom Stages: Hey! Look at me! I'm a video game designer! My mind has been swimming with ideas since I first read about this.
1. Battling Online: I've wanted to do this since the N64 version. Sadly there will be no leaderboards so people won't know whose the best, but I'm gonna go ahead and proclaim myself the champion of the universe.

Why a Leap Year?!

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Out of all years, why did this year have to be a leap year. Oh, how I hate the 29th of February.
If you've read this blog before you probably have realized that the reason I can't stand a leap year - it means another day that I have to wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
