Reflections on Christmas

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Another Christmas has come and gone. Wanna hear what I got? No? Then stop reading.

So far, the second season of Saturday Night is the things I've got the most use out of. Hilarious. I'm without Wii right now, and there's nothing on TV so that's been my main source of entertainment. By the way, I'm correct in calling it Saturday Night, because it wasn't referred to as "Live" until a little later on.
Wii Points Card... I'm getting Super Mario Bros. 3, naturally. But I can't decide if I should get Yoshi Story or Super Mario 64... quite the predicament. I'm saving the other 500 points until they bring out Tetris.
The Simpsons Movie DVD - Widescreen - just the way I like it... but it gets better: it came with a collectible T-Shirt.
I don't know if you've ever read the David Feldman books, but they're these books that answer questions that people send in. So far, I know why washing windows with newspapers is good, why the call him Donkey Kong when he's an ape, and whether or not elephants jump.

I got a lot of great gifts this year!

Guitar Hero III

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Last Wednesday I realized I had some extra cash so I instinctively went to Wal-Mart and bought the newest and greatest Wii Game - Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It's the game I've had for the shortest amount of time but I think I've already played it more than all the others.
It's great because it's my very first Nintendo Wi-Fi Game! I just finished a couple of online matches. I lost both but they were still extremely fun. It's great to get into a Guitar Battle where your opponent doesn't quit after three notes.
The name of my band is "Milhouse" - a rather odd reference. "We're" named after Milhouse van Houten of the Simpsons, but why did I choose him? Well, you know that band "Fall-Out Boy" - they're also named after a Simpsons character - a super hero sidekick, who was played by Milhouse van Houten in the Radioactive Man movie... I told you it was an odd reference...
Songs I Like: My favorite is definitely Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones, but I also like Black Magic Woman, Slow Ride (which most people hate because it's "too easy"), and Sunshine of Your Love. Also, I like the one Tenacious D song, the title of which slips my mind, but I still like it - just because of Jack Black. It's nice to play a song written by someone you've heard of.
Songs I Don't Like: There are a couple. The one I mainly hate is "My Name is Jonas," which is so painfully easy. True story: I'd had the game for about an hour. I'd never played any other past Guitar Hero ever before. I come to this song and I get a 475 not streak. That's just not right. Too easy.

If I had a time machine, all my problems would be solved.
Prediction for the Future: The Disney corporation will own everything and the likeness of Mickey Mouse will appear on everything from chainsaws to cars to machine guns.

That's Shocking

Friday, December 7th, 2007

I'm in the process of moving, so I was packing the stereo system. I had to untangle the stereo cord, from a Christmas tree light cord. Part of the Christmas tree cord had exposed wires which I didn't notice until the shock.
I emitted a girlish scream that faded into a high-pitched giggle when a numb tingling feeling tingled on my tingly finger. I now feel electricity running through my veins. I believe that this shock, combined with hundreds of thousands of hours of playing Nintendo, has given me super powers.
I vow to use my new-found powers only for good.
