Melee Maniac

Monday, July 16th, 2007

I bought Super Smash Bros. Melee the other day. I don't have a Gamecube. I play it on my Wii. There are a lot of problems. My Gamecube memory card is with my sister (along with my copy of MarioKart: Double Dash), who lives far away - in Seattle. The other problem is that my Gamecube controller's control stick is falling apart.
I bought it to hold me over until Brawl comes out, because when Brawl comes out, man oh man, you won't be hearing from me on this blog for several weeks because I will be playing it non-stop.
For those of you who have played Melee, you know that the Ice Climbers might be thought of as "not that good." I picked up on them right away. I'm pretty good with them, but I am quite literally unstoppable with Sheik.

More Upcoming Wii Games

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

It's time for another installment of Upcoming Wii Games.

Mario Kart Wii
Release Date: 2008
Description: Back to basics - no more of this "two people in the same car." I'm looking forward to this one because you'll be able to use the Wii's Wi-Fi Internet capabilities to play against others who are far away. I'm not looking forward to this one because I think I might have to buy that new Wii Steering Wheel Controller attachment.

Wii Fit
Release Date: 2008
Description: Another installment in the Wii Series, following Wii Music. You won't need to buy any extra controller for this one, because the required Wii Balance Board comes with the game. The Wii Balance Board not only measures your weight, it also lets you plays some sweet games like Hula Hoop, or you could just buy a hula hoop at the dollar store...

Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party
Release Date: October 2007
Description: I've always wanted a game like this to come out. In addition to the dancing pad we all know and love you will be able to move your hands like a crazy person because of the Wii-Mote/Nunchuk combo. Sounds great to me.

Brawl Release Date

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Well, nothing interesting has happened for a couple days. I was waiting for something interesting like this to happen before I make another post. This is very post-worthy. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has an official North American release date set for December 3, 2007.
Can I wait that long? No. However, I am very glad that a release date was finally set. It feels good, very good.
Is it just me or does December 3 suddenly feel like lightyears away. I may pass the time by buying Super Smash Bros. Melee; I may not; I never really liked that one that much.
This release date isn't the only exciting new for Brawl today - Donkey Kong will join the cast for yet another year of people saying that he's an overweight, slow-moving, worthless character. I disagree. I'll always honor him because the announcement of him joining the cast came on the same day as the announcement of the release date.
